This past weekend we had many family members here for a BBQ. Aunt Elaine got Justin new shoes....Bobux shoes..We had just had Uncle Dennis & Aunt Mary here, so the shoes reminded me of Clown Shoes...and then Uncle Dennis brought clown noses for all the kids, Justin's nose is too small, so we put it on his foot!

Check out my hair - I am getting hair on the top of my head finally....and I am pushing up when you try to stand me on my feet.

More Visiting...

This morning my friend Erin and her mom came over for a visit. We had a great time catching up on old times and letting Trenton and Justin play. Can you see they are holding hands here...

This was this morning. Dad had a few minutes before he left for work to spend with Justin.

I think this was the other night. Mom and Justin hanging out in the living room.

This afternoon Aunt Luanne and Becky (below) came for a visit.

High Chair

Justin and I are enjoying our visit with Grandma & Grandpa. Justin gets to sit in a real high chair here. He does pretty well in it too.

Yesterday we had a visit with Auntie Dana, Oma, and Cousins Reese & Carsten. Check out Tootlepops for a photo of the three. We had a great lunch and visit.

Many Visits

We got a great surprise visit from Grandma Dot the other day. Justin sure like Grandma Dot....he was all smiles for her.

.

And yesterday Justin got his first set of shots...this was no fun. Justin was purely enjoying his Dr visit...he was all smiles and coos for the nurses and staff until he got his shots, then he was all tears....but soon enough Mom fed him and he calmed right down. Justin now weighs 12 lbs 10 oz (75th percentile) and is 24 1/4 long (90th percentile).....

After our Dr. visit we went to J&B's for a quick visit with Gina and Boone....Since Justin is so big we decided to do a foot measurement...can you figure out who is 10 months old and who is only 10 weeks old!

Abigail is sure cute! She was perfectly content with her spoon and went through many of them before our visit was over. She wasn't sure about her Mom holding Baby Justin - but I think she did rather well. She is very curious about him and wanted to share her spoon ... or poke him - who knows :) and wanted to touch him - he is a very interesting creature.

Video of Justin

I finally spent a few minutes to play with the youtube website and set it up so I can share videos...it is actually really easy to do. As I played this video, Justin started talking back to what he was hearing - himself! :)

Two Months Old...

Today we took Justin to get his 2 month old pictures......the Picture People are good if you can handle not buying all the pictures, their prices are insane, but we will just get one or two and share with you online....here are today's.

We thought it would be fun to do one of a Bunny pose...

Playing

I called the Dr.

Okay, so I couldn't resist. I called and talked to the nurse. She said he was fine. Babies fall on their heads all the time and are okay. I don't think he fell on his head, more rolled off on his side.....and his is such a smily baby today, she said we would know last night if he didn't feel good, he would have cried a lot....

A fall....

Well, last night I came home from a full afternoon. There was stuff on the porch, so I put Justin on the couch...which I do often....and got the stuff to put on the counter and I herd a "thump"....he FELL off the couch. I couldn't believe it. I picked him up and he fussed a little bit, nursed him, and he seemed just fine. I panicked and called Mom and Gina for advice-of coarse you feel like the worst mother in the whole world!!!! .....all in all, his eyes dialatied the way there were supposed to, all his parts still move great and he seemed to be more startled than anything. There are no bumps on his head or anything either. I kept an eye on him all night long to make sure he was okay, and he woke at eating times (although about a 1/2 hour later than normal, but we have been working on that anyhow)...and is a cheery happy baby.

I am still half tempted to call the Dr. but realy I think he is just fine. Todd says to get used to bumps and stuff, cause he will be full of falling over when he is trying to walk and sit up...

A New Ride...

Justin got a new car seat. Here is he is trying it out for the first time. We haven't yet installed it, because it is so nice to have the infant seat where we can put him in the basket (at stores)....but he is getting heavier.....I think he likes his new seat!

Trying to catch a smile...

So today I was trying to catch a smile, but this is the best I could get. Seems like I click the camera when he smiles and then the flash goes off and he gets startled...so, this is all you get....As you can see he is a healthy baby, gaining a baby belly :)

Tummy Time

Justin spends a little time each day doing "Tummy Time". He is getting better at holding his head up-although not a total "champ" yet!

"Okay, I know I can do it"

"See I can do it"

5 week Dr. Appt.

Justin had his doctor visit yesterday. He now weighs 10 pounds and is 23.5 inches long. I believe his weight was in the 50th percentile and his height in the 75th. I think he will be pretty tall. After we finish up using his newborn diapers we will graduate to size 1!

Here is a picture from our picture session back in December with the Warren Family-Just got the photo's this week!

One Month Pictures

Today we went to the mall and Justin had his one month pictures taken. There were a ton of pictures to choose from, if not for the cost I would have gotten them all - hopefully when we meet up with Auntie Dana she will take some better ones too.

Today was a beautiful day here....it was about 75 degrees. We met up with Grandma Nellie, Jason, Miranda, and Kids for lunch....it was fun to see Little Nellie again too. I think our next photo shoot we will put both babies in the picture. Should be fun!

Monday - In need of advice...

I was changing Justin's diaper today and he was in a good mood (at least for the moment)....tried to capture a smile, but didn't get one...but this is a close up. You can tell if you enlarge that he may just end up with red hair. Sometimes it looks red and sometimes more blonde, depends upon the lighting...

I am in need of a bit of help:

Anyone know of the backseat mirror that is good for use in the Tahoe (no headrest in the center) center seat-so I can see Justin while I am driving with him alone? We have bought two and they don't work, there is nothing to attach them to in the back and we don't want to move Justin to the side....any ideas? My only next thought is to try to tie them to the headrests with rope or something, but seems like there should be something out there that will work.

Justin is still working on the whole when to sleep issue. Last night he went down at 8:30 and slept till around 9:00am (waking up every 3 hours to feed - Meaning that I only got 2 hours at a time to sleep)....I am really hoping this sleeping issue gets better. Today he was up from 10am to around 4:30 and was very cranky, and all he wants to do is eat, but just eat small portions all day long....I want to make him wait, but don't want him to go hungry either, so it could take an hour for him to get a full feeding...he will fall asleep while feeding, I put him down, and he wakes up 10 minutes later. Then he wants to eat again. He does this all day long until (like tonight) he finally fell asleep around 5pm and has been asleep for an hour and half now - just hoping he plans to go to bed at a descent hour tonight as well. Midnight is just too late for us...but he did that two nights ago.....can't wait for him to sleep for at least 5 or 6 hours straight! Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

3 weeks old

Justin is three weeks old today.

All ready for night time.

Last night we actually got some sleep. We put Justin to bed at 8:30 and we ourselves went to bed as well. He got up at 12:30, 4:30 and then 6:30. It is 7:00 at night right now as I write and we are trying to keep him awake again until after he eats at 8pm, then hoping he will sleep again so well tonight. We will see how this goes.

Crib and Changing Table

Thought I would put up some pictures of Justin in his crib and on his changing table. Crib and Table were given to us from Doug and Carola.....thank you soooo very much. We love them both!

Justin is growing so big...can't beleive it is already 2.5 weeks already. Time is flying by.

This is Justin's first time in the crib. He typically is in his bassinet next to me, or (I do admit) sometimes in bed with us!

Weight Watchers Blog Site

I will be doing WW again to loose these pregnancy pounds-will get to a meeting once I can drive and take Justin into the public. I know that Jim has started up again and my friend Karen (who so graciously offered up her house as a place of rest for when Mom was in the Hospital) and came to the ICU to offer up her house too....while there we all decided it was a great idea to have a WW blog site...Karen has set up a blog site for anyone interested in sharing progress, frustration, and to get support....

Here is the site:

So I can't resist posting another picture. Justin with Daddy. He is just about ready to suck on his thumb in this picture. I don't think it was intentional, but still sooo cute.

I am back...

Well...Mom is on the mend. Thank you to all our friends and family who were there to support us. We really appreciate it. They left this morning to go back home to Oregon. Mom and Dad stayed with us last night...good to have at least one more night with them.
Justin is one week old in this picture.

And again one week old in this picture.

Dad was able to stay with us during his stay while Mom was in the hospital. We were able to get a little time in with the baby....

Just a few more pics to share....

Some more from the hospital.....

I couldn't resist Justin sleeping with Daddy....both are so content! It was a lifesaver having Todd stay the night in the hospital with me and Justin.

We are home....

Hi everyone....we came home yesterday and Justin is 3 days old today. We have had a good day today, but a rough night last night - thank goodness Grandma is here to help!

The Baby Story....

On Monday night, my stomach looked like it had done this weird turn. It was off to the side of my stomach. It was the most bizarre thing. We just thought maybe the baby was moving and getting ready for delivery..little did we know that he turned.

My water broke on Tuesday morning around 6:30, so I rushed to get to the bathroom and then had to call Todd as he was already at work. I called Mom right away and she got started to pack, etc. When we called the doctor, he said to go ahead and go to the hospital to get "checked" since this was our first baby. So, we got packed up, took a shower, and headed to the hospital. Contractions weren't that bad, but knew I was having them. They were about 8 minutes apart as we drove to Chico. We made it to the hospital and went to get "checked". The nurse gave a very odd look at me....I thought maybe something was wrong, and she said that she didn't feel a head, and she didn't know what she felt. Okay - so telling this to a Mom what did she feel...I was thinking does my kid have an extra appendage or something? She went to get my doctor (as he was right in the hallway)....and he did the check, and confirmed he felt a FOOT! So, I had a Cesearean delivery.

Here are some shots from our stay....

Right after delivery. Justin is getting cleaned up and getting a clean bill of health.

Todd - in the recover room waiting for me to show up.

Justin just got a bath, so he is now all clean!

Justin in his Going Home outfit. He is 2 days old here. He got a clean bill of health and we were let out of the hospital a day earlier than expected.

Justin is 3 days old in this picture. Was trying to get him to cooperate and at least open his eyes, he wanted nothing to do with me and the camera. This is the only one that is isn't frowning in....
As for Mommy, I am doing well. My Mom is here and has been doing just about everything for me. It has kept me resting and just spending time with Justin as we bond. Daddy is loving his new role and found another Love of his life.
